Is it that time of the year already? Sort of – in years past, the annual Pigeon Forge Spring parade; formerly grand marshaled by Dolly Parton and Cal Ripken, would come early-to-mid May as a way to bridge the gap between the Spring Break seasons and the Summer Vacation seasons of the year; but for 2025, the Music In The Mountains Spring Parade now helps usher the Spring season in shortly after the official start of the season – and it’s coming a lot sooner than you think.
This year, The Music In The Mountains Spring Parade is going on in downtown Pigeon Forge on April 4th beginning at 6:00PM.

“Join us in Pigeon Forge on Friday, April 4 for our annual Music in the Mountains Spring Parade as we celebrate the musical heritage of the Smoky Mountains with marching bands, floats featuring many of our local businesses and entertainers and more!
Pigeon Forge will continue a tradition that began in 1985 with this year’s Music in the Mountains Spring Parade on Friday, April 4, at 6 p.m. Country music hitmaker and Army Reserve soldier Craig Morgan will serve as grand marshal.
Morgan, a multi-faceted entertainer, has made a name for himself as a country music icon, TV personality, author, celebrated outdoorsman and patriotic Army veteran. He’s amassed nearly 2.5 billion career streams and charted over 25 Billboard singles, including his signature hits “Bonfire,” “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “International Harvester,” “This Ole Boy,” “Soldier,” and the multi-week No. 1 “That’s What I Love About Sunday.”
“When we think of Pigeon Forge success stories, Craig Morgan certainly is at the top of the list,” said Pigeon Forge City Manager Earlene Teaster. “As a former member of the Country Tonite family, he’s forever a part of our Pigeon Forge family, and we’re pleased to have an occasion like Pigeon Forge’s Music in the Mountains Spring Parade to celebrate his many achievements in the country music industry. Craig has certainly made us proud.”
This year’s parade route also has been extended. The parade steps off at traffic light 6 on the Pigeon Forge Parkway and travels north to traffic Island Drive (between traffic lights 3 & 4). The route will travel through The Island in Pigeon Forge before disbanding in the city’s Municipal Parking Lot.

Attendees can expect to see high school marching bands from Minford, Ohio, and Pigeon Forge along with Alabama’s multi-award-winning 144-member Pell City High School band. The lineup also includes twirlers from Ohio along with the Star Strutters from Cincinnati. Pigeon Forge business participants include Country Tonite Theater, the Old Mill, The Island in Pigeon Forge, Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud, and more.”
