Fall Festivals For September 2019
Welcome to the 9th month on the calendar! It is Summer for a few more weeks, but for all other intents and purposes, it is now Fall time in the Smoky Mountains.
To get ready for building hype on Autumn for this year, we have some festivals coming up later this month that our Autumn-time visitors will definitely want to know about. Take a look:
Dollywood’s Harvest Festival and Great Pumpkin LumiNights

Harvest Festival:
“Each fall unique artisans from around the country visit Dollywood to share their beautiful handmade crafts with guests during Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana. In addition to Dollywood’s own skilled craftsmen, many talented artists set up shop to demonstrate a number of traditional crafts.
This year’s booths feature inspirational jewelry, paintings, handmade historic games, textile art, woodworking, felt hats, dolls and textiles, pottery, glass jewelry, chainsaw carvings, fiddles, and hand-painted ornaments. Visiting crafters are located in booths throughout the park.” – official website
LumiNights:
“Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana is even more spectacular this season, with thousands of carved and illuminated jack-o-lanterns immersing families in fabulous fall fun. Old Mill Heritage Day

Oktoberfest at Ober

Ober Gatlinburg is celebrating October with a fantastic festival featuring Bavarian-style food, drink and music, but you don’t have to don your finest lederhosen or dirndls to be a part of the fun.
OktOBERfest returns to its Gatlinburg-style roots with 38 days of merrymaking as the resort commemorates the 208th anniversary of the popular festival held in Munich, Germany.
The Bavarian Fun Makers Band, in authentic costumes, will perform traditional Bavarian folk dances, schuhplattling, oompah music, sing-a-longs, yodels and more with daily shows and multiple performances every day during Oktoberfest. Special Oktoberfest Biers will be served along with traditional German wurst, schnitzel, sauerkraut, strudel, pretzels and more.
